Email Integration

Connect your email to receive and send support messages

Email integration lets you receive customer emails directly in Support Badger and reply from your support email address. No email client needed.

Setup Options

Choose how to connect your email:

Method Best For
Email Forwarding Quick setup, any email provider
Google Workspace Gmail/Google Workspace users
Microsoft 365 Outlook/Microsoft 365 users
Custom SMTP/IMAP Full control, any provider

Email Forwarding (Recommended)

The simplest way to get started:

  1. Go to Integrations → Email
  2. Copy your unique forwarding address (e.g., inbox-abc123@supportbadger.com)
  3. In your email provider, set up forwarding to this address
  4. Test by sending an email to your support address

Setting Up Forwarding

Gmail

  1. Open Gmail Settings → Forwarding
  2. Add Support Badger address
  3. Verify via confirmation email
  4. Enable "Forward a copy of incoming mail"

Outlook/Microsoft 365

  1. Go to Settings → Mail → Forwarding
  2. Enable forwarding
  3. Enter Support Badger address
  4. Save changes

Google Workspace Integration

Direct integration with Google:

  1. Go to Integrations → Email → Google
  2. Click Connect Google Workspace
  3. Sign in with your Google admin account
  4. Select the email addresses to connect
  5. Authorize the permissions

Microsoft 365 Integration

Direct integration with Microsoft:

  1. Go to Integrations → Email → Microsoft
  2. Click Connect Microsoft 365
  3. Sign in with your Microsoft admin account
  4. Select shared mailboxes to connect
  5. Authorize the permissions

Custom SMTP/IMAP

For advanced setups or non-standard providers:

Sending Emails

Configure your "From" address:

  1. Go to Integrations → Email → Sending
  2. Enter your support email address
  3. Verify domain ownership (DNS records)
  4. Test by sending a message

Email Signatures

Set up agent signatures:

  • Team-wide signature in Settings
  • Per-agent signatures in Profile
  • Variables supported ({{agent.name}}, etc.)

Email Features

  • Threading - Replies grouped into conversations
  • Attachments - Full attachment support
  • CC/BCC - Carbon copy recipients
  • Rich Text - Formatting preserved
  • Delivery Status - Know when emails are delivered

Troubleshooting

Emails Not Arriving

  • Check forwarding is enabled
  • Verify the forwarding address is correct
  • Check spam/junk folders
  • Test with a different sender

Replies Not Sending

  • Verify SMTP credentials
  • Check domain verification status
  • Review email in sent folder
